The County of San Bernardino and community wellness stakeholders will meet in November for an all-day summit to begin to identify collaborative strategies to improve the health and well-being of the community. Presented by the Community Vital Signs Initiative and the Senior Affairs Commission, the 2013 Live Well, Age Well Summit will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 14 at the National Orange Show Events Center. Representatives of local nonprofit hospitals, universities, government agencies, businesses, and faith and community based organizations launched the Community Vital Signs Initiative two years ago to assess and address the health of the county in support of the Countywide Vision Project. In July and August 2013, more than 1,000 community stakeholders from a variety of sectors provided their input on wellness priorities and goals during 22 community engagement meetings. At the November summit, stakeholders will discuss models and strategies for achieving those health goals.
