All San Bernardino County Library branches participated in Jumpstart’s Read for the Record, a global campaign which generates public support for high quality early learning by mobilizing millions of children and adults to take part in the world’s largest shared reading experience.
All of the 32 San Bernardino County branches held storytime and introduced the Read for the Record program to 1,386 children across the county. Liz Smith, who works for the County Library said many of the branches also incorporated arts and crafts into the Read for the Record events.
This year was the 10-year anniversary of the campaign and the book highlighted by the campaign this year was “Not Norman: A Goldfish Story, written by Kelly Bennett and illustrated by Noah Z. Jones.
