The Auto Club Speedway has developed a successful reading incentive program called “Lefty’s Reading Challenge” to get students reading while offering prizes during NASCAR Racing Weekend.
The program is endorsed by the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Office and the Countywide Vision project because it coincides with the regional goal of preparing all children to succeed from cradle to career.
The Speedway is inviting schools across San Bernardino County to participate. In exchange for reading books, participating students and classrooms will earn admission for themselves and their parent/guardian to the Auto Club Speedway NASCAR Racing Weekend events held on March 21 and 22, 2015. In addition, participating schools have the opportunity to win prize money for their school libraries.
Visit the Speedway’s website to register your school at www.LeftysKidsClub.com/readingchallenge. The deadline to register is January 9. Auto Club Speedway will send out all the materials needed for students to participate.
