Families, business, labor, education, government, public safety and community service organizations from Colton, Grand Terrace and Bloomington came together this month to identify priorities for supporting the success of every child from cradle to career. Colton Joint and San Bernardino City unified school districts are piloting the first Community Cabinets for the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools’ Alliance for Education, which seeks to foster partnerships amongst all community sectors to support the education system. In October and November, the Colton Community Cabinet will meet with teachers and students to ensure everyone’s priorities align. The Alliance plans to eventually roll out community cabinets in other school districts throughout the county.
